Quick graph update

Just lost a bit to ATC idiots, but its the weekend. Its always gonna happen, and I will continue to play as many hands vs fish as possible. I did notice a regular today, who seemed to notice I was always trying to get the fish of the table HU. That doesn’t happen very often at this limit, and was frustrating and refreshing in a weird way as it added a neat dynamic to the table that you usually don’t get at 100nl but you find a lot at 200nl. Unfortunately I wasn’t actually able to run into a good hand to exploit him with as he overly applied aggression at me PF OOP. The only interesting hand vs him was that his fold to 3b was like 17% over 200 hands on 3 tables. A result of him trying to play at me while I am trying to get pots HU with bad players. I ended up 3b a hand and barrelling two streets in the pot, and he insta folded the turn barrel, putting me at about break even vs him re stealing from me and 4b my squeezes.

Ive had some sick good success in teh 5400fpp sattys to the Sunday Million and noticed the new Double UP Sngs on PS. I decided to give them a run even though I hate SNG’s with a passion. I do like this format a lot as even a lot of SNG players dont quite get the strategy for these. I ran good in them and will probably continue playing some of these on my own dime just as a change of pace. I read my “staking” contract and it says that I can play on my own dime as long as I am not sacraficing too much time from the stake. Since I play so many hands compared to what is asked in most stakes, I dont think this could ever be said, and again its a nice change of pace even though the amount of money is completely insignificant to playing 100nl.

Little update and some thoughts

Been working on my game a little bit. Not a ton at all. More than anything I have been referring back to old favorites in the video category that I know are solid and good for my game. I have spent a lot more time in forums reading/commenting on hands. I think that does give you a very solid base if you are capable of filtering out the 75% of bad advice in the SSNL forums of different sites. It is really funny in those forums how wrong the general 2+2 player is. So often everything is a shove there, when there are clearly 3 other better ways to play the hand. Then at the same time they suggest so many sick tight folds that are just too nitty for SSNL games.

For my own game I have been working on making it a bit more solid and simple. It is SSNL after all. I never ever have issues with hand reading anymore. That is just about always spot on. My biggest issue (and it is really just a variance multiplier) is opponent reading. I make so many plays that are super EV at a tough table but vs Joe Blow stealing Internet access from his neighbors trailer in the Florida panhandle they are unnecessary, and hes probably not capable folding let alone understandng the hand range I am representing.

This is the last 24 hours or so.

Today so far…

Pretty standard for me for who knows how long now. Losing when I get the money in ahead, let alone coolers. I hope to God this ends soon.

Non-SD is not easy to keep in the positive at 100nl, at 200nl its the easiest thing ever. I hope the work I have done on my game means that this is fixed and will stay positive because it will add a lot of bb/100 whenever I actually run decent.

Winners were mostly pretty std

These hands are not for the faint of heart…

Just kinda how things keep going. Stake started off pretty down from running bad and a few badly played hands. From there it has just been break even and far from running half decent.

Stake update

Well it started off AWFUL but turned around. Up a bit now, and up a lot from my low. Ive put in a lot of hands already as I have always been very comfortable with the Stars software and 9 tabling it is not hard at all. I did drop to 6 tables of only 100nl for a while as I got out of the rut. As of now I am six tabling 100nl and 3 more tables of 200nl.

Here’s a crazy 200nl hand. On the flop its top 2 vs middle set vs nut FD vs OESD. I dont know what my equity was in this hand, but I am pretty sure I ran quite a bit above considering every card in the deck was a bad one for me.  http://www.pokerhand.org/?3418552

New stake

Just a quicky about that. The stake is for one month and at 100 and 200nl. I will be mixing tables of both. After meeting a few people I am happy with my new staker. Hes a nice guy, who will be pretty hands off but personable. After speaking with several people I liked his approach towards me the most. While I wanted coaching etc, its hard to get with a lot of people who play higher than me and have much success already. Needless to say though, it will motivate me to work more on my own game. That said I will post within the next few days the things I am and will be doing in that facet.
As for starting the stake, it didnt go so great. I must say the play style is no different on PS than FTP for the most part. I took a couple beats and that was that.

All in all I think I just ran bad, which seems to have carried over on me. The winning hands were std so I wont post them right now because I am ready for bed.

Ill probably watch 1-2 videos tomorrow and get some hands in. It’s unfortunate to run bad/lose money to start.

Possible staking

So I figure maybe a change of scenery is due for me. I think I am going to be looking for another stake at the 200nl or possibly a 100nl with a cut in my favor.

About me:

I am 28 and live in Federal Hill in Baltimore. I currently work in a restaraunt a couple days a week and hate it. In about two weeks I will be getting a job with DHL/FedEx/UPS and returning to finish school part time at the University of Baltimore starting this spring. I recently moved back (6 months ago) from Orlando to this area. My bankroll originally moved me to there, and what was left I used to move back here. I had a long break from poker and then found the staking thread at 2+2. From there I met my last staker and we had a great relationship that will continue.

Reason for wanting a stake:

Basically as a passive income for the time being as well as to eventually build my own roll. I would assume that this stake would last 2-3 months at the most.

Goals:

I would like to start at 9 tabling. 3 of those tables would be 200nl as I develope a volume of hands there and show success move on to more tables of that. Probably settling in at just 6 tabling 200nl. I play 75-100k+ hands a month at the moment. Eventually in the future I would like to pay 30-50k on my own roll when my life is where I see it going in the future.

I had began talking to WCGRider about a 200nl stake recently and decided to stay with my current staker. Today I just kind of decided it was time for a change, and hopefully in the direction of someone that can do a little coaching with me as well. Since I had passed on that opportunity I guess I need to look into other directions. And to be straight, I in no way know WCGRider at all. We were just talking about staking, he is by no means a valid reference.

My last stake started as a 25nl stake on August 19th and has moved up since over about 150k hands. It went as high as a small shot at 200nl where I lose 6 buy-ins total and then we moved back to 100nl where I was 9 tabling. I ran through 25nl and 50nl over 11bb/100 and 100nl at just over 5bb/100 but have a 20k hand  break even stretch in there where I ran 10bi below EV.

I have been a 2+2 member for years, but my post counts are low. I just have never been one for posting as much as reading on here. I can provide you PLENTY of hands and graphs, I have AIM, Mikogo, TeamViewer, Skype, and Ventrillo. Obviously you would get the FTP account or PS accounts email log in information, I do not have rake back on FTP. You can also obtain a phone number to reach me at when available. Along with that I know that my current staker can vouch for me (NormanManley on FTP), who plays 200-1k NL HU and a friend who is staked by MasterLJ and his staking crew.

I have a great understanding of the game and a higher level of thinking than many already. I have a DC membership and CR as well as a Stox membership, the CardRunners for nearly 2 years.

I have about 20k hands at 200nl so far and am down about 6 bi overall, and running bad. I can show you plenty of HH’s or load sessions into the CR replayer if youd like as well. I find that nearly every regular on at 200nl is very exploitable in some form or another. I have just not been able to take off at 200nl for some reason yet.

I am on good terms with my current staker as well. He was supposed to be a coach but never needed to at 100nl and below and spent his coaching time with other stakees/students. I would estimate total time actually coaching over this time frame to be 3 hours. There has been lots of sweating (countless hours) and talking on AIM (again countless).I think at this point I just want a change of scenery at the least as well as possibly coaching if someone is willing and able to provide 1-2 hours a week.

My current staker never intended on staking a 200nl player, and 100nl wasn’t really a goal of his either. Once we went to 200nl and lost 6bi I could tell he was uncomfortable with the swing. At this point he asked me if I would mind 100nl and I said that was fine. I felt a small amount of loyalty to him for the way we have gotten along throughout the last 3 months.
Let me know if this is something you are possibly interested in.

Continued Blah?

Played a ton yet again yesterday. I think I have over 12k hands for November already. The theme of my game right now is continuing though. I believe I am down a buy-in in those 12k hands. Coolers/Std losing hands etc. are abundant. The amount of three outers I have taken is approaching or has exceeded 15, and that’s just the 3 outers. There have been some 2 outers etc as well and lots. The hands where I am 85% equity or more after the turn are countless.

I am a member at CardRunners, DeucesCracked and StoxPoker now. I don’t really know why… there really is no need for all this content. I am very certain that I really cant learn a whole lot more about the game until I (unless) I reach the 400nl level. There just are no big jumps any longer. The games get harder at 200nl but that is only because it is the first limit where the level of player gets significantly better. Even the fish/donks are not as bad. They are suddenly very aggressive and want to win every pot, making playing them more variance oriented. I brought this up because I was just trying to figure out what video I want to watch. Quite frankly, why. I am not going to learn anything from them (you always learn but nothing I haven’t heard before). Becoming a better player is 100% in my hands now. I have the knowledge, the BR and the mental capacity to put in a lot of hands. It now comes down to decision making, controlling spew, maximizing value and making proper river decisions.

I made a 50nl video today. I ran sick good and ran over tables, completely owning souls. I kind of found the video to be funny. I made it just to change the pace of grinding a ton. Then as I was playing I realized, this was a great learning/teaching video. I mean AWESOME. As I began the climb from 25nl-50nl-100nl-200nl I was a HUGELY critical of almost every video of that limit. Nearly all of the videos were just insane LAG for the limit. At DC there were good ones where they understood not being so ridiculous at the lower limits but then I found them being TOO tight post flop. I think there are at TON of spots at 25nl-50nl where you end up value calling really thin for a good win-rate. Check-fold is way overused at these limits. One of the hardest parts for my move to 100nl (first 10k hands) was removing that profitable hero call from my game. At 200nl it became even more of an issue. So I think my staker will give that to one of his students he coaches. Along with that I may put it on the forums/training sites. We will see. I have only outed my screen name in a few spots at very intermittent times. I am not so sure I want to supply a video of who I am whilst playing.

So another thing I have been considering is outing my name. I think that I am at a point that I can really help 25nl-50nl players a ton. At the same time having a big time winner at your current limit or a winner at the limit above you, as a friend is a huge asset. Being able to speak poker, life etc while grinding day in and out is a huge deal. I have 2 people like that but I think that even more could be an asset. As I move into having a day job again and grinding like 50k hands a month in my spare time I think that this should help keep me on my toes. My only worry is that a huge portion of the 200nl field is active at all the training sites and 2+2. So on one note it makes you say, if they know you they will know you are probably a better player. On that same note though, all I usually need is 50 hands on someone before I know if they are a training site member/2+2 type player. So I guess it doesn’t make a difference.

Later I may add some of the sick-o hands from yesterday.

This game is turning into a bad joke

I am actually close to quitting this game or moving to another stake at 200nl. It just getting sick frustrating now. Every hand is a suck out, cooler, donk call etc. When I do win a hand I have to suck out on someone. There is no such thing as actually playing winning poker atm.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3400474 TPTK tard and I finally hit the nuts vs him. Hes a total idiot

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3400475 Tilted hand because the guy is 80/40 and I am tired of the whole table limping and calling PFR’s so I squeeze the whole table.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3400476 Yet another cooler from a total fish. Obviously I am willing to put in TPQK with this guy by the line I take.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3400477 Another fish. My hand has too much value to fold vs the idiot… Lucky me/him, whoever

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3400480 Yay, obv here I am good and barrel for a reason. Yet another fish.

12 tabling 100nl

Is like printing money as someone said to me today. Its true.. Things are going good doing that. It is a great way for me to pad the roll, make some cashouts etc. I am gonna keep working on my game which I feel is pretty solid already. Hopefully I will keep mixing in some 200nl and get on the ball with that. Took a 250bb stack cooler vs a guy with 888 today, then lost another set for 120bb to another cooler. Then I spew off a stack with 88 vs a aggro retard 3 handed who had K9 on a Q99 board. Mad I did that, but I think I actually gets folds or am good vs him a lot. Probably not -EV at all vs this guy, but added variance I dont need. Especially whilst 12 tabling.
