12 tabling 100nl

Is like printing money as someone said to me today. Its true.. Things are going good doing that. It is a great way for me to pad the roll, make some cashouts etc. I am gonna keep working on my game which I feel is pretty solid already. Hopefully I will keep mixing in some 200nl and get on the ball with that. Took a 250bb stack cooler vs a guy with 888 today, then lost another set for 120bb to another cooler. Then I spew off a stack with 88 vs a aggro retard 3 handed who had K9 on a Q99 board. Mad I did that, but I think I actually gets folds or am good vs him a lot. Probably not -EV at all vs this guy, but added variance I dont need. Especially whilst 12 tabling.

Theme of downswing

3b AA, KK, QQ, AK PF in LP or blinds. Get a call. Board is dry or I pair and I CB. Guy buys a street. Turn is a blank. Bet again, get shoved, call. Guy turned set.

Has happened 5x in last 4k hands.

The people doing this are regulars, 2+2 guys TRYING to tell themselves they are thinking on another level…??? Oh well, I am not playing the hands bad but it happens.

Guess this is needed.

So I think I am playing great right now. There are some areas I can and will be working on but this is just getting atrocious. I am in a 10-bi downswing and it just isnt stopping. I have been working on getting less swingy and it helped for a while. Now it is just balls to the wall running awful. But it needs to be said that I have played some hands badly as well. Just now a friend was gonna record the session over Mikogo and commentate over it for me. I insta take a set over set. Then every hand I play gets 3b/4b, c/r etc. I am down money. Next thing I know someone calls a 3b with 88, calls a CB and hits an 8 on the turn for another stack vs my AA.

Im fucking lost ATM

Does it end?

Need a nap, figured I would toss in some hands quickly

Didn’t play much this weekend. Ran insta bad every time I tried to load Fri and Sat. Yesterday I slept in, then went to the bar at 4pm to watch the Steeler’s game. All the guys were at the Ravens game (that’s 3 blocks from my house, then to a bar that is literally 12-15 doors from my house). I guess out of comfort/sheer bad ass bar/proximity they were all banged up pretty bad at 4pm. I tried to get drunk, but in the midst of football/Golden Tee/Big Buck Hunter/Shuffle Board/hitting on chicks etc they were so drunk everytime I sat my beer down one would pick it up and drink it. So over 7 hours I got in 3 beers, split a $200 tab 4-ways for some reason (since I never actually drank 75% of the beers meant for me), and dealt with drunk people.

Today’s stats. I didnt sleep well and began playing around 5am-8am. Then about an hour or less since.

And then youre like “show me how!”

  1. UTG is raising every orbit from CO and Button. 3b villan is 3b EVERY HAND, 23% during the session. I 4b semi-bluff/bluff/value shove TT. Whatever you want to call it. Then WTF a guy in the blinds calls a cold 4b shove!!!!!!! Caller is a very nitty player but also super capable of thinking on higher levels. While his stats make him not super great at 200nl he is a thinker and because of that one of few I respect at 200nl so far. http://www.pokerhand.org/?3374304 He insta types cooler, and I am not surprised that he grasps this tables dynamic. We chat back and forth some about this hand (he was 100% sure I have 99-JJ or AA, AK and laughs that the other two were impossible to put a range on.
  2. Since that first hand I have stole the blinds relentlessly and 3b/squeezed the morons from the first hand non stop. My coach is a proponent of “tightening up” when you have just 3b/4b etc a lot. I say if they keep folding its profitable until they dont fold. I did make an effort to tighten my range up in chunks every orbit to the degree that I definately folded hands I normally wouldnt CO and Button. Here I dont hate his play at all, he is getting a fold from me like 10 times in the last 1/2 hour, just not this time. Also, I have made small 4b’s he has folded to a few times. I think a small 4b should have been his line here.
  3. There was some reason for this. Regarless I suck out. http://www.pokerhand.org/?3374341
  4. This guy 4b’s 7% and I almost shove him here. Then I realize I am in position and he has a pretty high squeeze %. I elect to flat knowing that I am in pos and I am shoving any flop whether he bets or not. I guess its a delayed 5b shove… It may not be “the way forums say to play this” but it was a change of pace from the constant 3b/4b I do
  5. And you ask where I find these people…. http://www.pokerhand.org/?3374353
  6. Out-leveling regs a ton lately http://www.pokerhand.org/?3374363

Oops, lol

LOL POKER

Serisously WTF? I just played 30 minutes and made $700. WTF is happening? For the last week its just been as bad as possible non stop, with sinful good runs that crash and burn back into running bad. I am sure I have played some bad hands, spewed here or there. What poker player doesnt? But my coach has seen 2/3 of the hands live as I played and had no issues really, especially with any hands that were expensive. Im tired of losing 5bi a session, then winning $900 to make it up, only to lose some more. I would LOVE a 10bi session, or 5 3bi sessions in a row or something. I sit with these players, and some are good, some are great. In general though the average 200nl player is far from impressive. Quite frankly most have a style that would actually win them a better hourly at 100nl playing more tables.

So rant rant rant, blah blah blah! I hope it ends soon.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3366600 Std, he mixes up limping and raising every orbit UTG, but never folded once

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3366601 Max value I guess

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3366606 Umm…. 19% 3b over 1.5k hands, and showing it at the table every other hand. 3bets 21% from the SB and 22% from the BB. Button 3b is 25% AND he squeezes 28%. Basically he range is weighted to 76o.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3366607 This was just dumb, and I am pretty sure my shove was -EV compared to min raising and calling a shove maybe…

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3366608 Its a read, relax everyone. Well see him again later.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3366610 Ship some monies

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3366614 Donations welcome

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3366616 BIG POT!!!! Ship it donkey. Told you we would see him again. He asked if I would show in chat. I didnt answer… so he paid $184.10 more to find out! I love this guy, perma searching him when I play.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3366621 For me this is a pretty big ass fold, lol.

I dont know how to describe this anymore

Im willing to trade…

…someone for teachingĀ  me how to win at showdown, my abilities to win non-showdown pots. Through 6200 hands in my new database at mostly 200nl and some 100nl I am upĀ  $1020 in non-showdown pots. At showdown I am down $1209. WTF?

But seriously I am running shit poor. I just ran 12 tables of 100nl and ran into some shitty spots.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3365481 I like this hand vs a loose passive, and think its std variance between me missing and him just flatting AK PF.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3365485 This villain is 15/12 and I cant imagine him calling my 4b bluff with anything other than AK, AQ… I shove bluff again with a pretty good hand, and run into a monster with outs behind though. Interested in what people think here. He should have shoved or folded PF but who’s to say…

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3365490 Another nit who is 16/11 over 160 hands exactly. His WTSD is a whopping 40%. I cant imagine that I am not ahead of his range when hes seeing showdown that much, but again, hes got a stronger hand…

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3365493 I call the turn raise because I know my TPGK is good. Then I make a huge fold. Then he shows 4 hi… Fuck me.

For an break in HH’s…

A friend was in town from Cleveland (staying at my house) and we went out on the town last night. First was a bar for Happy Hour. There was some shit talking, and a bet was placed on me. $30/head for 4 people vs my $20 a head that I couldn’t do 5 in 5. That means five beers in five minutes. I was already about 4 beers in accompanied by a LB of wings. I win with 40 seconds to spare, ship the $80 and a few years of shit talking.

Then Rick decides he wants to do 40 wings in 40 minutes. Money and shit talking starts flying. Realizing he has already had an order of 8 wings things start changing. Big money was on the original bet (these guys all make $150+/yr) and we end up at a much smaller bet of $20 a head vs his $15 a head, loser buying the wings as well. He now has 15 minutes to head 24 wings. You Tube should be up this weekend for that. At 10 minutes and during an extreme amount of shit talking from the whole bar (split down he middle mind you, like its fucking Sunday night football) the bet changes. Hes got a shot though slim, and we go to 24 in 20, but he’s got to drink 2 beers too after and not puke or use the restroom for 2 hours. That puts him at 32 wings and 4 beers in about thirty minutes. He lost the bet by ONE second. Ship more monies, and an awesome You Tube video to come.

Whats really funny in the video ( I was somehow still coherent enough to catch this on tape) is Mike who decides to bet Rich that he wont “shoot” in his words, one of the bleu cheese ramekins for $1. Rich says “fine,” Mike kills it and the shit talking is on from Mike. (things get ugly when someone that smart starts shit talking) Then Rich realizes how much dressing is left in the ramekin and an argument ensues for 30 minutes over the $1 and how he didn’t win it. Mikes argument is that there was never a spec for how much of the bleu cheese had to be finished. I am pretty sure that whenever a bet is made on the basis of consumption, you have to fully consume. Mike is just happens to be witty enough to argue this anyways.

So then we go to our favorite bar, The Stalking Horse. This was probably the best part of the night. They have a jukebox that plays the video of the song you request. The music selection is HUGE, I have rarely found a song not in there. Well my roomie decides to Rick Roll the whole fucking place. He Rick Rolled 300 people at once, in person, including our group who are expecting something much more along the lines of 90’s alternative or 80’s hair bands. Ten minutes later, in true Mike fashion, he Double Rick Rolls the fucking place and I walk out of the front door knowing the night can only go downhill from here.

Overall a good night hanging out with a bunch of people I know, but are not really good friends with. They all come from knowing my roomie.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?3365512 Just a run bad hand… same villain http://www.pokerhand.org/?3365515

Back to hands…

Yup I did it…

Actually in the midst of this downswing I just looked into the Rick Roll phenomenon. Apparently one study estimates that 18 million Americans have been rick rolled. I for one never realized that it had a live value. Apparently instead of being just an embedded link, Wikipedia also lists it as a live act meant to be disruptive.

Here’s some good ones…

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeuEMeg8eQE This is funny, because if you watch it long enough you see how much people actually hate this song. I mean some of these people are PISSED. I for one fall into the category of thinking this is a great song. Its so full of awesomeness.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8ErbVOfvqw&feature=related Someone Rick Rolls a Mets game. About 20 seconds in the WHOLE stadium is booing.

Some guys answering machine Rick Rolls Vince McMahon

Ironically a video on You Tube just said “an interview with Rick Astley on Rick Rolling.” It was the video, and I got Rick Rolled. I guess that’s the danger of researching this subject.

Adios
